MPA Membership Meeting Minutes for June 2017

The meeting was called to order by at 1705hrs.

A motion to accept the minutes from last month’s MPA membership meeting was proposed and accepted.

We discussed as a group the Chief’s selection process. President Gafvert wanted to make sure that membership understood that we as an organization had no input in the hiring process. We were not asked to participate and were purposely kept out of the process.

MOU update: It’s been in the possession of assistant City Manager Pombier for four weeks now and he still hasn’t brought it to City Council to review or for direction. It is unknown what the holdup is at this time.

MPA cell phone application is still in the works and still a couple of weeks from being completed.

President Gafvert announced that he will take over the full-time release program which I presently hold. He will take it over come shift change in August.

The Treasurer presented a financial report on the Association’s current assets.

There is an OAF 80’s Skate Party fundraiser on June 22nd, with family Skate from 6-8pm and adult only skate from 8-11pm. All are welcome!

Nate Peterson is our Injury Liaison to help members who are injured navigate through the City system.

The interest part of the PSPRS lawsuit will be heard on June 6th 2017. Stay tuned for updates.

Nominations can be made at the July 5th 2017 membership meeting for the upcoming E-Board and Trustee Election. You must have attended at least 50% of the meetings within the last year to be eligible for nomination. The election will be held in August.
