How you can help…

On May 12th, 2014, the Mesa Police Department family lost a great officer. Sergeant (Posthumously promoted) Brandon Mendoza was killed in a collision by a wrong way driver on the freeway while driving home from his patrol shift. Sgt. Mendoza was a member of the Mesa Police Association, and often helped with our charity events and fundraisers. We at the Mesa Police Association will deeply miss Brandon, and the work ethics he exuded.

Many people have asked us how they can help contribute to Brandon’s family in their time of need. The Mesa Police Association has our charity, the Officer Assistance Fund (OAF), which was founded to assist the families of injured or fallen Mesa Officers. The OAF is a registered 501c3 organization, and all donations to it are tax deductible. 100% of any donations given to the OAF in Brandon’s name will be given to his family.

There are several ways you can donate to Sgt. Mendoza’s family;

·         You can mail donations (preferably checks) to the OAF at: MPA/OAF, 123 N. Centennial Way #207, Mesa AZ 85201. Please write “Mendoza” in the subject line.

·         You can visit our website at, and click on the “Donate Now” tab, and donate through our Paypal account, using your credit card.

·         You can donate at any Wells Fargo branch, donating to the “Officer Mendoza Memorial Fund”.

Again, all donations given in Sgt. Mendoza’s name will go directly to his family. The MPA and OAF will be selling memorial shirts for Sgt. Mendoza’s family in the near future, and we will keep you posted on when those are ready for sale.

The MPA would like to thank the 100Club of Arizona ( and the Mesa Police Department for their fundraising efforts, and all their help in this horrible time.
