Blue Santa Huge Success!

The Officer Assistance Fund and Mesa Police Association are pleased to say that Blue Santa for Breezy Point was a huge success! We were able to raise approximately eight thousand dollars in gift cards, which were given directly to the families of law enforcement in New York and New Jersey whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. During the event, the reaction of the children to Blue Santa made the whole trip worth while. The screams of joy and happiness could be heard throughout the Rockaways. A special thank you to NYPD Officer Moore, who dedicated an enormous amount of time to help with this project. Officer Moore was able to have hundreds of toys donated for the children, so more money raised could be given directly to the families. Special thanks also to NYPD Detectives from the 100th Precinct for giving members a guided tour of the damage and destruction that occurred throughout the area. It was a very humbling experience, and one those members will not forget. The OAF and MPA thank everyone who supported and donated to this event, and thank you to the City of Mesa Police Department for its support!
